Best in Canadian Film 2012

As some may know, I worked on Legend of a Warrior directed by Corey Lee. It was released this year and has been making its rounds across Canada. It was recently voted one of the best Canadian films this year! Check out the article.

Poor Billy

Poor Billy, Chapter One - Billy's Parents from Christian Goutsis on Vimeo.

Again, I forgot to post an animation that I worked on. I am apart of a group of talented animators called the Queen's Merit Collective. We completed this animated short for 6 Degrees near the beginning of this year. It is nice to finally watch it with finished sound. Enjoy!

Kudos KQ Animation

What's Your KQ? from KudosNowTV on Vimeo.

Here is another animation I made for Kudos. It was nice to do some character animation. It also was my first time working with professional voice talent. Looking forward to the next video!

The Legend of a Warrior

I realized that I haven't posted anything about a documentary that I worked on. I helped animate the motion comic components to The Legend of a Warrior, directed by Corey Lee. It was a super fun project and I am excited to be a part of something like this. The doc was playing at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival recently in Toronto. It should be in selected Canadian theaters soon. Also, it should be broadcasted on TV in the near future. I can't remember which station, but I will make sure to post it when I find out.

Utility Box Painting

I decided to paint a electrical box in the East Village last week for the City of Calgary. I think it turned out pretty good. It was a neato experience. I am thinking about painting another one if I have time this month.

Demo Reel

I put this together last month but I am now able to post this. This includes work that I have done fairly recently. I had a lot of fun creating the title sequence.

Aboriginal Youth Animation Project

For the past six months I was a part of the Aboriginal Youth Animation Project. I was a program where Quickdraw Animation Society took in a number of Aboriginal youths. We taught them animation techniques as well as life skills. We traveled to many different places to show the opportunities that were available to them after completion. It was my first time being a part of something like this and it was so much fun! I learned so much.
When the participants finished their film, they were screened at the Plaza Theater. Part of my co-workers job was to make the documentary. Here it is:

Quicktrack Interview

As you may know, over the summer I was lucky enough to be a part of the Quicktrack program. The four of us made animations that were projected onto buildings during the 2011 GIRAF Film Festival. Each one of us were interviewed in a interesting location/scenario. Here is my interview.
